MDRA/Nepean U19A Tryout Registration

May. 12, 2026

19A Tryout Registration (Now Open)

As per Ringette Ontario's (RO) Team Formation Procedures Manual (April 2026), Nepean and MDRA will be conducting tryouts for U19A.

Registration for U19A tryouts are now open. Registration must be completed online through the Nepean Ringette Association's RAMP Registration Portal under Available Participant Packages - Camps and Clinics.

Tryout Fees

  • Cost: $110 per player (costs will increase to $125 after May 15th, 2026)

NRA policy allows a player to obtain a refund minus the $25 admin fee until the start of the first tryout. Once tryout #1 starts, no refunds are issued.

Please note, MDRA athletes are not required to buy Nepean Tryout jerseys - you can use your MDRA jerseys or borrow a set of Nepean Jerseys. There are also used jerseys available on Marketplace or from the Nepean Equipment Exchange Facebook Group for a reduced price. You are also welcome to buy a set for $50 from Nepean.

Competitive Program Expectations

  • Athletes who accept a position on a competitive NRA team are expected to attend all team activities, including (but not limited to): practices, games, tournaments, Provincials, dryland training, meetings, and fundraising events.
  • The program requires a significant time commitment of 5+ days per week.
  • Participation at the AA/A level does not guarantee equal ice time. Please review:
  • Families should be prepared for a significant financial commitment, including substantially higher team fees in the competitive program compared to regional programs, as well as mandatory apparel, team events/meals, and travel expenses for away tournaments. Team fees can exceed $1,500 per player for the season, with total team budgets potentially reaching or exceeding $30,000 per team, shared among athletes.

Multi-Association Tryout Rules (A Level)

Athletes may attend tryouts at up to three (3) clubs for A-level ringette.

  • If a player’s home club is hosting a U19A team, that tryout is the primary choice.

    • Since MDRA and Nepean are co-hosting, this team tryout counts as their home association (and must be attended)
  • The current club must be attended as the secondary choice.

  • Any other A-level club may be chosen as the third choice.

Please note, this information will be required when registering for tryouts through RAMP so associations can plan accordingly.
