MDRA Awards Nominations

Every year the MDRA presents the following awards to recognize the help provided by the many volunteers who make Metcalfe ringette happen: The Irene Corkill Award, Thompson Cup and Jim Meloy Award recipients are chosen based on nominations from the community.

If you would like to nominate an individual for one of these awards, please review the following criteria and submit their name and a brief summary of their activities to Katie Shulha.

Note: Nominations are not to be made by immediate family members (spouses or parents).

Nomination deadline is Sunday May 7th, 2023.

1. Irene Corkill Spirit Award

The Irene Corkill Award goes to a U19 or U16 player who has demonstrated their commitment to the sport by giving back to the association.

2. Thompson Cup

The Thompson Cup is awarded to any volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the association during one or more seasons.

3. Bob Robb Award (President’s Award)

The Bob Robb Award goes to a member of the MDRA executive for service above and beyond. The recipient of this award is chosen by the MDRA president.

4. Jim Meloy Award (Coach of the Year)

The Jim Meloy Award goes to a coach who presents a positive role model for coaching and demonstrates concern for the all around development of the players to develop confidence, self-discipline and respect.
